I turned to city topics in my paintings (hockey players, motor-racing, night driving and coffee shops). I use dynamic scenes to show layers of light shining through and the enigmatic effects of abstract shapes.
My most recent work shows the fiery scenes of VII. district pubs, coffee shops and couples dancing tango. To prepare these paintings I make sketches at the scenes, then complete the paintings in my studio with dynamic forms, bright colours, powerful gestures.
Coffee shops are the venue for intellectual conversation, dialogue, commencement of friendships. Young artists sat in the past and still sit today, forming a community and this is true for any location in the world, Budapest, Paris or Buenos Aires. My story is the story of the living city. The drama of the night. Tension with time and among ourselves. This is the world of today. Everything moves. I am a born Budapest citizen, and could not live anywhere else.
